Lamberts Co-Enzyme Q10  - 100mg

Common uses

  • In heart disease and artery disease (weakened heart muscle, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorders, angina)

  • Circulation (e.g. Raynaud's disease)

  • Gum disease

Co-enzyme Q10 is found in foods, particularly organ meat, but cooking and processing methods tend to destroy it and, whilst it can be made in the body, production declines as we age. In fact, a lack of energy in older people may, in part, be connected with lower co-enzyme Q10 production in the body.

A lack of co-enzyme Q10 has been associated with periodental (gum) disease. Similarly it has been shown that those with certain heart conditions and people who are overweight tend to have low co-enzyme Q10 levels.

Recent findings

In a major study in Italy of more than 2500 patients with heart failure, 80% showed improvement when a daily dose of 100mg of coenzyme Q10 was added to their other treatment. They had better colour and less ankle swelling (oedema) and shortness of breath, and began to sleep better after taking the supplement for 90 days.*

Also known as ubiquinone, co-enzyme Q10 is the enzyme responsible for the last biochemical pathway required for energy production within our cells. It is therefore not surprising to find the highest concentrations of co-enzyme Q10 in those organs which have the highest energy requirements, such as the heart muscle and liver, and in those tissues that regenerate quickly such as the gums.

Like the Lamberts 30mg potency Co-Enzyme Q10, this product is presented in a vegetable oil base for easier absorption and is endorsed by one of the original researchers who first discovered co-enzyme Q10.

Lamberts Co Q10 is supplied in gelatin-free capsules.

Lamberts

Lamberts is the UK's leading supplier of food supplements to health professionals. All Lamberts product formulations are based on an in-depth understanding of the latest nutritional research. Their strategy is to develop only those products that are supported by a valid scientific rationale and this has led health professionals to rely on Lamberts for nutritional and herbal supplements that provide relevant levels of active ingredients. Lamberts products are produced in their own factory which is one of the most modern and technically advanced in Europe and which operates to stringent pharmaceutical standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and is approved by the UK Department of Health, Medicines Control Agency. Each product manufactured by Lamberts is subjected to a series of rigorous tests ranging from analysis of the raw materials through to tests on the product whilst it is being made as well as the finished product itself to ensure they meet the specifications given on the label. Lamberts work in conjunction with several research departments at Universities through the UK to conduct studies on a number of topics ranging from the use of magnesium in asthma through to anthocyanidins and fluid retention. Many of Lamberts products are of a higher potency than you would normally find in retail products. The reason for this is that the active ingredients in their products are included at relevant levels as opposed to just token levels.
