As a taste test to indicate zinc status:

Take the test at least one hour after food or drink. Simply add 5ml of Zincatest solution to 60ml of water and immediately swirl one 5ml spoonful of the diluted mixture around in the mouth for 10 seconds (this mixture can then be swallowed or spat out).

The taste sensation that results from this test provides an indication of zinc status:

Solution tastes like water                           : Your zinc status is low*

Slightly dry, furry, mineral-like or even       : Your zinc status is marginally low*

sweet taste develops after a few seconds

Definite taste, which intensifies with time     : Marginally positive zinc status*

Strong unpleasant taste noticed                  : Your zinc status is positive*

* If your status is low or marginally low, use a zinc supplement or Zincatest until response improves to a positive status.  A 3-6 month course of zinc supplementation may be necessary.

A fresh solution should be made up each time a test is required.

After opening, replace cap and store in a refrigerator.

Each 5ml provides 15mg zinc sulphate

This information is not intended to replace the advice of a qualified Healthcare Professional.

Zinc is an essential trace mineral, important to help support the immune system. It is also a component of insulin, body fluids, and many enzyme systems.

The refining of cereal grains, a major dietary staple in the UK, has been shown to remove up to 90% of the available zinc content of these foodstuffs. This, combined with the trend to eat less animal-derived protein, is likely to be one of the reasons why a staggering one out of three adults in the UK receive less than the Reference Nutrient Intake (RNI) for this mineral.

Zincatest is a simple non-invasive test, which gives an indication of zinc status. Zincatest can also be given as a zinc supplement. Recommended for those who find zinc in tablet or capsule form difficult to swallow.

Lamberts

Lamberts is the UK's leading supplier of food supplements to health professionals. All Lamberts product formulations are based on an in-depth understanding of the latest nutritional research. Their strategy is to develop only those products that are supported by a valid scientific rationale and this has led health professionals to rely on Lamberts for nutritional and herbal supplements that provide relevant levels of active ingredients. Lamberts products are produced in their own factory which is one of the most modern and technically advanced in Europe and which operates to stringent pharmaceutical standards of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and is approved by the UK Department of Health, Medicines Control Agency. Each product manufactured by Lamberts is subjected to a series of rigorous tests ranging from analysis of the raw materials through to tests on the product whilst it is being made as well as the finished product itself to ensure they meet the specifications given on the label. Lamberts work in conjunction with several research departments at Universities through the UK to conduct studies on a number of topics ranging from the use of magnesium in asthma through to anthocyanidins and fluid retention. Many of Lamberts products are of a higher potency than you would normally find in retail products. The reason for this is that the active ingredients in their products are included at relevant levels as opposed to just token levels.
