Hydrochloric acid (HCl) digests protein and provides a low pH, which not only helps to kill off harmful bacteria, but stimulates the pancreas to secrete further digestive enzymes.
Pepsin is a protein-digesting enzyme.
Amylase breaks down carbohydrate.
Ox bile thins down bile and helps break down lipids.
Pancreatin is a pancreatic enzyme which helps break down protein molecules.
Bromelain is derived from pineapple, and has been well-studied for its soothing properties.
