Carbohydrate Metabolism

Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions in Western countries, with an estimated 17 million people having the disease - 6 million of them not yet diagnosed.

Prediabetic conditions, such as insulin resistance, are on the rise as well. By one estimate, as many as 25-35 percent of individuals in Western countries have some degree of insulin resistance.

Sedentary lifestyles and increased consumption of refined carbohydrates leading to obesity have been implicated in this rapid rise in blood sugar problems. In addition to increased exercise and dietary modifications, there are a number of nutrients and botanicals that may provide benefit for metabolism of carbohydrates.

These are included in Thorne Research Diabenil

Thorne Research, Inc
