BRITISH GOVERNMENT ADMITS:

Many British people are suffering from malnutrition

IT'S CLEAR WE CAN'T RELY ON A 'BALANCED DIET' ALONE

AMERICAN GOVERNMENT ADMITS:

A recent government survey, part of the National Diet and Nutrition Survey, has shown that the average diet in Great Britain does not provide adequate nutrients.(1)

Vitamins A, some B vitamins, vitamin C, iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iodine and copper were highlighted.

Two NDNS surveys were compared - 1986/7 and 2000/1. In the space of only fourteen years they show that there has been a marked decline in intakes of key nutrients in our diet.

Particularly short were vitamin A, vitamin B12, iron, magnesium, copper and zinc.

Inadequate intakes of these and other nutrients have been associated with increased risk of most of the main degenerative diseases, including heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease.

Food supplements are a cost effective and efficient means of increasing micronutrient intake and their use is increasingly supported by medical researchers who have highlighted the health implications of inadequate micronutrient consumption.(2)

Here is a selection of recommended multivitamin and mineral supplements to choose from to help safeguard your health.

“Adults Urged to Take Daily Multivitamin”

After reviewing studies done over the past 36 years in which low vitamin intake was linked to various illnesses, Dr Kathleen M Fairfield and Robert H Fletcher of Harvard Medical School in Boston, concluded that everyone should take a multivitamin daily. They recommend this as a low cost, low risk way to obtain a substantial health benefit.

"No man of today can eat enough fruits and vegetables to supply his system with the minerals he requires for perfect health because his stomach isn't big enough to hold them."

(Farm Land Mineral Depletion and Senate Document no.264 1936)

These are Verbatim Unabridged Extracts from the 74th Congress 2nd Session:

Senate Document No. 264, 1936

"The alarming fact is that foods (fruits, vegetables and grains) now being raised on millions of acres of land that no longer contain enough of certain minerals, are starving us - no matter how much of them we eat.

"Laboratory tests prove that the fruits, the vegetables, the grains, the eggs, and even the milk and the meats of today are not what they were a few generations ago (which doubtless explains why our forefathers thrived on a selection of foods that would starve us!)"

"It is bad news to learn from our leading authorities that 99% of the American people are deficient in these minerals, and that a marked deficiency in any one of the more important minerals actually results in disease. Any upset of the balance, any considerable lack of one or another element, however microscopic the body requirement may be, and we sicken, suffer, shorten our lives."

"Certainly our physical well-being is more directly dependent upon the minerals we take into our system than upon calories or vitamins or upon the precise proportions of starch, protein or carbohydrates we consume."

"When I first went to see him I had to be carried in," reports Les. "Later I was able to walk on my own." But more good news was to follow. "After one session I went home as usual to lie on the settee. Then suddenly, my right eye opened with a sort of pop, then my left eye - and I could see again."
