DRY SKIN

(back to nutrition facts A to Z menu)

Nutrition Facts and Diet Advice for Dry Skin

  • Eat plenty of vegetables, fruit, wholegrains, seeds and nuts.

  • Eat beans, pulses, tofu, oily fish such as mackerel, herring, salmon, sardine and pilchards.

  • Sulphur containing foods, such as garlic, onions, eggs and asparagus keep the skin smooth and young-looking.

  • Orange and yellow vegetables are good.

  • Drink at least 2 litres of spring or filtered water every day, at room temperature or warmer.

  • Avoid fried foods and processed vegetable oils – these damage the skin.  Use instead organic coconut oil and extra virgin cold pressed olive oil.

  • Avoid sugar, soft drinks, soda water, caffeine, tea, alcohol, pastries, or any junk food at all.

  • Avoid dairy produce.

  • Avoid smoking.
