DRY SKIN

(back to nutrition facts A to Z menu)

Nutrition Facts and Diet Advice for dry Skin

Eat plenty of vegetables, fruit, wholegrains, seeds and nuts.

Eat beans, pulses, tofu, oily fish such as mackerel, herring, salmon, sardine and pilchards.

Sulphur containing foods, such as garlic, onions, eggs and asparagus keep the skin smooth and young-looking.

Orange and yellow vegetables are good.

Drink at least 2 litres of spring or filtered water every day, at room temperature or warmer.

Avoid fried foods and processed vegetable oils – these damage the skin.  Use instead cold-pressed vegetable oils and extra virgin cold pressed olive oil and use them in supplemental form also.

Avoid sugar, soft drinks, caffeine, tea, alcohol, pastries, or any junk food at all.

Avoid dairy produce.

Avoid smoking.
