About Infections

Infections become more frequent or long-lasting when the immune system is run down.  Stress, insufficient nutrients such as vitamins and minerals, and general toxicity in and around us can lower our immune defences.  To raise them again we need vitamin C and all antioxidants, probiotics such as lactobacillus acidophilus, the herbs echinacea and cat’s claw and possibly anti-fungals such as garlic and capryllic acid (see candidiasis).  Avoid excessive stress if possible and get plenty of rest and fresh air.

 

Nutrition Facts & Diet Advice for infections

Consider the following nutrition guidelines:

 

  • Eat a Mediterranean diet, full of fruit and vegetables, as well as garlic, onion and some olive oil. 

  • Consider buying a juicer and a book on juicing (read books by Victoria Boutenko)

  • Drink at least 1½ litres of spring or filtered water every day. 

  • Avoid dairy foods, sugar, white flour, white rice, convenience food, fried food and excessive meat.
